China slams new US sanctions over Iranian oil deals

China expressed “strong dissatisfaction” after the US announced sanctions against some Chinese shipping firms and their executives for buying Iranian oil despite European attempts to arrange talks between Washington and Tehran. Foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang called it a “gross violation of the basic norms of international relations”.
