China Virus: Wuhan Deserted

Drone footage taken by a video journalist working with ChinaFile shows the city of Wuhan, China, under the unprecedented coronavirus quarantine that began on January 23. #ChinaVirus #Wuhan #Coronavirus

The city has been cut off from the world for nearly two weeks in efforts to contain the deadly outbreak.

The footage was taken in late January and early February, according to ChinaFile.

Wuhan’s airport and a number of planes sit empty and dormant. Bridges across the city’s waterways are practically devoid of vehicles. Central areas likewise are missing the throngs of people that usually populate them.

The coronavirus has infected over 24,000 people globally and killed at least 494 at the time of writing.
