Massive fireworks display for China’s 70th anniversary

Beijing skies lit up with a stunning fireworks display on Oct 1, as China marked the 70th anniversary of its founding. An outdoor gala directed by Chinese director Zhang Yimou saw thousands taking part in synchronised dance in Tiananmen Square. Zhang had also directed the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. (Video: APTN, Reuters)
